Preparing to close it up. (Taken with instagram)
And I realized I never posted pictures of my finished bass bar. I haven’t gone through pictures from my camera in a few days, so here’s an iPhone shot to show it’s done! (Taken with instagram)
Trimmed/cleaned up the pegs yesterday too. The D string peg is a little wonky, but I don’t think it’s worth changing the hole completely. I’ll see how it works once it has strings again. (Taken with instagram)
Been carving out under the fingerboard. (Taken with instagram)
Adding corner blocks to the Maggini copy. Yeah, the top is ugly, but it’ll be a little better once it’s trimmed, plus nobody’s going to see it anyway when the fiddle is closed up. (Taken with instagram)
Good to be working again, now that school’s not in the way! And good to get back to this fiddle specifically. Finished fitting the bass bar and glued it today.
Marc approving my bass bar fitting! (Taken with instagram)
Shavings from planing my bass bar today. :)
Trying to convince the corner to go back where it belongs. Also replacing a small bit of lining.
Cleats all done! Now trying to plot the bass bar… I hope I’m measuring straight…
I may have to re-loosen that one corner and do something about it. It’s too weird. But aside from that, it’s all coming together nicely!
